The Homecoming Pep Rally was a great way to start off the homecoming week and get people excited about the Warrior Fan Fest that upcoming Friday.
The LC State Alumni Association, Athletics Department, and Student Involvement all partnered up to create the pep rally.
There was a routine from the LC State Warrior Spirit Squad as well as announcements from Men’s and Women’s Cross Country.
Later on there was the 2022 Shopping Cart Races and the games on the Talkington Hall lawn.
Planning for the 2022 Homecoming week had been hectic and took months to prepare ahead of time. Since COVID had such an effect on events for the last two years, these departments are trying to bring the excitement and buzz back onto campus.
Getting students more involved and being able to meet the sports teams which were to compete that weekend was one of their main goals: to connect everyone together on campus. The community was involved in the decorating process, and made Homecoming an overall good experience.
Additionally, this year the Alumni Association partnered with the Idaho Central Credit Union for the first time in a pep rally.
With their sponsorship, they were able to supply free T-shirts! The department hopes to be able to supply more activities and get more community involvement within the future.
The Assistant Director of Development and Alumni Engagement,
Allison Silvestri, shared her thoughts on what she hopes the future looks like for community and engagement.
“The community is a big part of who we want to bring in, a couple businesses, and down to Lewiston Panther Windows,”Silvestri said, “and so we hope to continue that tradition on throughout the next few years.”
