Pushing production well into the 21st century, LC State’s paper The Pathfinder is looking for new management for fall semester 2023. Meeting every Monday from 3:00 to 4:00 p.m. the student newspaper is planning its next semester with new faces. The positions for hire will be; Editor in Chief, Business Manager, and Assistant Editor.
These positions have previously been filled by graduating students who are majoring in the English department. However, students majoring in business, communications, and digital design have also filled the roles in the past.
The roles are open to any LC State student who has a background in writing, as well as experience in Adobe Indesign, Photoshop and Illustrator. These are paid positions that the LC State communications board are looking for future filling.
These positions are great assets to one’s resume and allows students to get a taste of what post-graduation can hold. Tasks for Editor in Chief include; leading weekly meetings, coordinating story ideas every other Monday for issues every two weeks, assembling the newspaper in Adobe Indesign, writing content, and networking in different fields at LC State.
Tasks for Business Manager include; helps process payroll information as well as new hire paperwork, sells advertisements for commission, balances The Pathfinder's budget, and represents the group’s finances at monthly Communications Board meetings.
Tasks for Assistant Editor include; managing and operating our social media pages, updating our website after every issue, right- hand-person to Editor, copy-editing stories submitted, helping writers with questions and concerns, edits newspapers with EIC, assembles ads for buyers, and writes content.
